I finally got around to sketching a couple of ideas out over that past few days. It’s also the first time I’ve used a pencil in quite a while and rather annoyingly, I couldn’t find a rubber either. I’m going to paint these two up over the next couple of weeks, starting with the vampire.


…well he did look a little ropey before I went on holiday, so I dusted him off as soon as I got back. The old model had a bucket for a head, but luckily the new one looks a lot more like Hellboy should do. :)

The mesh should be finished in a few days, hopefully I can get the rather tedious UV’ing done sooner rather than later… still, there’s only the Right Hand of Doom left to model…
I’ve been wanting to make a Hellboy model for a while now. At first I was aiming for a more realistic model, but that never quite got off the ground. Eventually though I settled on a slightly more comic approach. Seems a little odd to make a comic version of a comic book character, but there you go.
I got the idea for the look of the model, while browsing the internet for Hellboy research material. As luck would have it, I stumbled across a very rough sketch that provided the basis for the model.
