Schmap Canada Second Edition

While I was in Canada my brothers and I went to see the Vancouver Canucks get whupped by the L.A. Kings on their home turf. It was a fantastic evening out even though we hadn’t  a clue about the rules and where slightly confused by the giant whale shaped blimp that would float past us every so often. Luckily the whale was benelvolent and managed to drop goodies as it drifted by!

I posted a couple of photos from the trip on flickr and now one of them has been included in the Schmap Canada Second Edition. It lists attractions and landmarks, that sort of thing. But if you want to see the photo, click this and you’ll find it sitting in the top right corner of the page. :)

I’ve added a few images to the Sketchbook page. Some are old, some are new. One thing’s for sure, there aren’t enough of them… I need to get more sketching done, on paper and in Photoshop.

I changed the colour scheme, as the blue was starting to get old. Now I just need a new header image; something in green should suffice…

In other news, I fixed up the Finalburn Alpha website. Having been away from emulation for a few months, I’d failed to notice that some turd had hacked the site. I should have checked up on it more often, but it’s one of those things I let slip by.

Anyway I switched the FBA site over to wordpress, so it should be more secure and spam free from now on. To top it all off, after an extended period of inactivity FBA has returned to life. Check out the site and forums for updates. :)

Server Move

Everything is just about up and running after the server move. However all of the images found in the tutorials, portfolio and anywhere else are currently a.w.o.l. I’m going to try and get the forums up and running again as soon as possible. However I’m not going to rush it as i want to find  a decent way to stop the spam bots first.

New Shorts

I’ve been staring at this site for almost two months now. For some reason I seem to be under the impression, that if I stare hard enough and for long enough, something might happen. Maybe the site will magically generate posts on it’s own. :)

That does kinda happen though. Recently i’ve been plagued by nasty little spam bots peddling their wares. Spam in my inbox has gone up, and so has the number of spam comments here at ojko. The upshot? Well I finally installed the Akismet plugin, which happily catches spam for me. And a fine job it’s doing.

So where does that leave the modeling? Well with my catwalk career going down the pan faster than a bout of diarrhea, i’ve finally started working on Hellboy again. The mesh is in a complete state, but i’ve chosen to push the poly count a bit higher. Somewhere around 10,000 tri’s should do nicely. He’ll still be textured in a semi cel shaded manner and the catwork thing was a joke for those not paying attention. :)

The post title? It’s currently very hot where I am, so yesterday I bought new shorts. Yay me, etc…
