I guess this qualifies as a monster. I sketched him out last night and started work on the model in zbrush today. I feel that I approached this model a little better than the last, making sure I get the lower subdivision levels correct before moving on to the detail.

I still seem to be missing something. I can get the broad brush strokes done quite well, however the fine detail brushwork still eludes me. The head is pretty much done, with only the tongue, teeth and eyes left to add.

From the looks of it, he hit someone too hard and sprained his wrist. This took about 30 minutes or so in Photoshop.

Feels good to have a sketch back on the front page, kinda balances out last weeks zbrush love in…
Quick pencil sketch of a perturbed bear. I’m not quite sure what he’s looking at, but he’s clearly a little upset by it.
I’m bored and can’t sit still at the moment. I doodled a quick sketch of Wolverine. I sort of like the way it looks and at the same time I sort of don’t. Not enough detail and I should have done more with the highlights…
…that said, I do like the oddly shaped adams apple.
Ok, this took most of this afternoon to do. Granted I stopped to watch the Canadian Grand Prix (which was a pretty eventful race!), but it still seemed to take a while to complete. Having watched the excellent King Sullie video on Creaturebox, I decided to try and make something in a similar style. So here’s a coloured version of yesterdays Zilla sketch.
I quite like the way it turned out, but as ever I’ve got a few issues with it here and there. There’s less colour variation than I’d have liked, giving it a less painted finish. Maybe I should have used a third colour for the spines as well.
Oh well, on to the next one. I’ve got sketches of Wolverine & Batman that need colouring. :)
I sketched this out last night, fingers crossed I’ll get around to colouring it tomorrow.
I also need to do something about the way this site looks, it’s rather drab and boring at present.
